Through journalism, the general public has the power to check their leaders and others who hold powerful positions in society. Journalism causes us, as a society, to become informed and knowledgeable citizens with a desire to make the world a better place.
A journalist is given inherent rights to the freedom of the press. Journalists must exercise these powers fairly and accurately to ensure that the human race may have a thorough understanding about what is happening in the world around them. They are the informers of society and hold a powerful responsibility toward their fellow citizens.
